Dr. Wayne Tymchak is a Professor of Medicine and Acting Director for the Division of Cardiology at the University of Alberta, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, Edmonton Alberta.
He has been the Coronary Care Unit Director since 1985 and has been involved in numerous clinical trials, in patients with acute coronary syndromes, coronary intervention, lipid disorders and in patients pre and post transplantation.
Dr. Tymchak is an accomplished teacher with many awards from trainees at all levels. In addition to his work in the CCU, Dr. Tymchak is an Interventional Cardiologist and Transplant Cardiologist.
Other interests include congestive heart failure and gene therapy trials. More recently he has been involved in International Health focusing on Eastern Europe.
Hobbies include traveling, music and singing.
